Bob and I moved to
America from England 16
years ago. We love
it here, every day feels
like an adventure in a
new land!
I have bred
Irish Draught
horses
for many years, both
back in my homeland of
England and now here in
America....but five
years ago we decided the
time was right for me to
fulfill a childhood
dream.
And that dream?
As a child in England I knew these
horses and finally it
was time to have a Gypsy
Vanner of my own!
So after a long and
painstaking search we
found a Gypsy Vanner
mare to add to our small
band of Irish Draughts.
Since then we have
discovered that Vanners
seem to exert "the chips
effect"
~ you can't have
just one ~
So back in '04 we found
another grand type of
mare to join our
Harkaway Greys!
And when she had a super
little filly?
Well, doubtless you can
imagine the rest. So then
we had three Gypsy mares
(well, two and a half
really since Daisy is
still a baby). I'm not
quite sure how that
happened, it certainly
wasn't my
intention...but the
chips effect is indeed a
powerful force!
Then in '06, Tansy
had a colt that I was
supposed to sell.
But he's still here too.
Back last summer I
heard that a mare I had
dreamed of owning for
a number of years may be
available and I probably
don't even have to go
further here. You've
likely guessed what
happened. So what if we
have to exist on pasta
and ramen noodles for
ever more!!
Suffice it to say, in
the many decades in
which I have been
fortunate enough to have
lovely horses, I have
never been happier than
I am with these
creatures in my life.
They bring qualities of
peace and contentment
that is rare in this
busy, hustle-bustle
world.
Our aim, now, is to
breed a few quality
foals each year. And who
knows...one day I may be
able to bring myself to
sell one! Certainly it
would be lovely to help
someone else towards
their own dream of
owning a Gypsy Vanner...and
we are running out of
space so I simply
mustn't fall in love
with another fluffy
foal.

Lest we ever forget, we
are only ever 5 months
away from snow here in
Wisconsin!!
More
snowy Vanner pictures!
These little rascals are
paid to keep mice out of
the barn but it sure
looks like they are
sleeping on the job!

...Luckily someone
around here is awake!
This is my buddy, my
Newfie Summer. We have
her nephew, Teddy, too
but I need to take some
new pics of him.
