Magpie's first day home

Once upon a time there was a two year old filly offered for sale. It was love at first sight but when I called about her, my call came just thirty minutes too late...she had been sold. A while later she came available once more but again my call was just too late. I knew where she was but I also knew that she was much loved and unlikely to be available again.

Fast forward a few years and now Magpie is six years old and quite by chance I discovered that her owners were wanting to reduce their numbers and would consider selling a few of their best mares. This time my call was not too late! In fact, determined not to miss her again, I chased her owners down whilst they were on vacation! At last, Magpie became mine. She had received quite extensive dressage training and attended parades and expos. But not yet been trained to drive and this was my dream.

To cut a long story short, Magpie is proving to be an astoundingly quick study and has her first drives under her belt. A light, responsive mare with boldness and ambition, I am so very excited about her prospects in the show ring in time! That she is a sweet, engaging soul just makes me adore her all the more.
