Currently in foal to the wonderful
silver dapple stallion
Silver Fox!
It's possible that we would
consider letting Teasel move to a
new home. She's one of our
foundation mares, has gorgeous
babies and is as sweet as the day is
long. It's not easy to find a mare
as big, nor as heavily marked as she
is....nor as adorable. But it is
something we might consider, to the
right home.

In her braids, taking a
turn around the muddy
field |
Teasel was bred by the
one and only Robert Watson.
She is by his old horse
(DNA verified), a
highly regarded stallion
and a son of the true
and legendary Roadsweeper
(UK).
She is out of the
world renowned
Teddy Mare (DNA
verified) (by Eddie
Alcock's Black Stallion
aka The Old Black
Horse). Teddy is
believed, by many
gypsies, to be "the
Mother of all"...high
praise indeed! We are
delighted, and proud, to own a
daughter of this great
mare.
Teasel is the dam of our
sweet
Daisy |
Teasel is a very tall Vanner,
standing a solid 15+hh. Like most
of the horses from this bloodline
she is a wonderful mover and very athletic for such
a big girl. Common to this line, and
apparent in Teasel,
is a great length of neck in to a
clean throatlatch with the neck set
high. Combined with a powerful loin,
long hip and correct limbs, this
truly is a line of Vanners
delightfully suited to riding.
Both her sire and her dam are
renowned for producing vast
quantities of top quality hair in
their babies and Teasel appears to
be no exception. You won't find many
mares with more feather. But far more
importantly, they also are known for
producing correct horses with
excellent breed type, wonderful
temperaments and big, loose, free
movement.
We think they did a very nice job
with our big girl.

Teasel has the most
wonderful temperament.
A sweet, gentle
soul...she has the
sunniest character
imaginable...a mare with
joy in her heart. |

I captured this picture
as the girls were playing
in the snow (hence the
fence in the way!) Far
left is Teasel and in
front of her,
Daisy...her daughter.
Tansy and Magpie behind.
